Election laws in the United States govern the laws related to federal and state elections in the United States.

Contribution limits

Constribution limits are published by the FEC. These amounts are adjusted for inflation. For example, in the 2023 - 2024 federal election, no more than $3,300 may be given to a candidate directly[1].

The McCain–Feingold Act of 2002 also limits the amounts of money that may be given to a political party. For example, the contribution limit for 2021-2022 by a person to a political party was $36,500 per calendar year.[2]
