Miles Law School

Template:Unreferenced Miles Law School is located in Birmingham, Alabama. It is independent of Miles College, having its own separate Board of Trustees.

The law school was founded on August 26, 1974. Among the founders were Bishop C. A. Kirkendoll of the C.M.E. Church, Dr. W. Clyde Williams, former President of Miles College, former Senator J. Richmond Pearson, and Morris Dees Esq., Founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama.

Graduates of the Law School may sit for the Alabama Bar Exam. However, because the school is not accredited by the American Bar Association, graduates of this school are not eligible to sit for the Bar Exam in most other states.

The law school only offers a part-time evening program, which apparently permits admitted students to work during weekday business hours. Miles Law School Tuition for the 2006-2007 school year is $115 per hour or $1,380 per semester plus $200 for student fees culminating to $1,580 per semester. As no Federal Student Aid program is set-up, admitted law students are required to pay out of pocket, which pay tuition payments are permitted in three (3) installment at the beginning of each semester (i.e. Fall Spring and Summer).
