The University of Kansas School of Law is a first-tier public law school located on the main campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. The School of Law at KU was founded in 1893, replacing the earlier Department of Law, which had existed since 1878.[1] The school has more than 30 full time professors and more than 500 students. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association and a member of the Association of American Law Schools. U.S. News & World Report ranks the University of Kansas School of Law as a top-tier school and rates them as a "best buy".[2]
Curriculum
The first-year curriculum includes Contracts, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law and Property. In addition, students take a legal writing class designed to teach legal research and writing in a context that emphasizes professionalism and practical skills. All first-year students have one of their classes in a small section of around 15 students providing an informal learning atmosphere.
